The RAPTOR project makes its first public appearance at DEFEA 2025!

Between May 6 and 8, 2025, the RAPTOR project was presented for the first time at DEFEA (Defence Exhibition Athens), a high-profile international exhibition showcasing the latest land, naval, aerospace, national, and cybersecurity defence systems. This much-anticipated event was organised under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence and in collaboration with SEKPY – Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Material Association. This exhibition took place shortly after the official kick-off of RAPTOR on May 1st, marking a strong start for the project’s outreach activities.
At DEFEA, RAPTOR’s Technical Manager, Dr Marios Sophocleous, introduced attendees to the project’s objectives, vision, and technological innovations. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about RAPTOR’s innovative approach, combining advanced printed sensor technologies, predictive maintenance capabilities, secure wireless communications, and artificial intelligence to enhance firearm system reliability and safety for European defence forces.
This year’s edition of DEFEA brought together 436 exhibitors from 37 countries, showcasing 18 national pavilions. It hosted 98 official delegations from 45 countries, reinforcing its position as a central event for defence innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships.
RAPTOR’s representation provided opportunities to network, exchange insights, and discuss potential collaborations with experts, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across the international defence and security sector.
