RAPTOR Holds Its 2nd Plenary Meeting in Athens, Greece!

Between 12 and 13 May 2026, the EDF project RAPTOR (Remote weAPon condition-based moniTORing System), held its 2nd Plenary Meeting in Athens, Greece, hosted by EXUS AI Labs. The two-day hybrid meeting brought together all consortium partners to review project progress, coordinate upcoming activities, and further advance RAPTOR’s technical development and system integration efforts.
The agenda featured a series of work package updates and technical presentations covering project coordination, technical management, risk and quality assurance, innovation and IPR management, data ethics and security, dissemination and communication activities, and exploitation planning.
A major focus of the meeting was the project’s technical progress beyond the state of the art, including detailed discussions and presentations on RAPTOR’s three main innovation pillars:
- Low-cost, robust printed weapon sensors
- Secure-by-design Internet of Military Things (IoMT) and cloud-edge continuum
- AI-driven weapon condition monitoring
Partners also discussed ongoing data collection activities, preliminary system design definition, product assurance and security risk assessment, and the transition from design to upcoming development activities and future deliverables.
On the second day, consortium partners had the opportunity to visit the premises of Hellenic Defence Systems (HDS), gaining valuable insights relevant to RAPTOR’s future validation and development activities. The consortium would like to especially thank Michalis Mpelesis, R&D Director of HDS, for the warm welcome and collaboration during the visit. The consortium would also like to thank EXUS AI Labs for successfully hosting and organising the meeting in Athens.
This plenary marks a significant milestone for RAPTOR as the project progresses deeper into technical implementation, integration, and validation activities. The meeting strengthened collaboration across the consortium and helped define the direction for the next phase of the project.
